Q:What is the definition of E-waste? Which products are included?
 
A: E-waste is disposable electronic appliance, electronic equipments and its waste components and parts; scrap during industrial production and repairing; used products or scraps from equipment renewing and reusing; discarded product and equipment by consumer; product and equipment prohibited by law and regulations or manufactured without authorization; products or materials under the e-waste category in the State E-waste Catalog.
 
Q:Why let qualified recycling company handle E-waste?
 
A:E-waste product is highly suggested to be recycled by professional recycling company with certification. E-waste has various toxic components, such as Brominated Flame Retardants (BFRs) in circuit board, Lead in tube, Mercury in sensor, etc. If handled or disposed improperly, they will generate huge harmless to the human body and to safety of the environment. Q:How do most countries handle E-waste recycling? What’s China’s current recycling situation?
 
A: E-waste pollution has caught global attention. European Union has legislated relevant environmental protection laws and regulations on e-waste management. For example, WEEE Instruction: full name “ E-Waste Equipment Instruction”: requires that manufacturers are responsible for recycling; RoHS Instruction: full name “the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic equipment)” requires after July 1, 2005, electronic products are not allowed to have Pb, Hg, Cd, Cr(VI), PBBBs, and PBDEs these six hazardous materials.
The United State legislated White Electronics Bury Forbidden Instruction, for example, California required consumer-pay recycling.
Asia, especial China, as global electronics manufacturer center, starts to realize the hazardous effects of e-waste, and has taken active steps.
Japan issued “Special Electronics Re-commercialized Law” in May 1998 and “Personal Computer Recycled and Reused Regulation” on April 1, 2001.
In China:
On February 28, 2006, Information Technology issued “ Electronic Information Product Pollution Management Measure”, to be implemented on March 1st, 2007
National Development and Reform Commission plans to issue “Waste Home Appliance Electronics Recycling Management Regulations”
State Environmental Protection Administration of China plans to issue “ Waste Electronics and Electronics Recycling Technology Policy”.
 
Q:How big is the demand for e-waste recycling in China right now?
 
A: It is reported that most of refrigerator, wash machine, TV in late 80’s and early 90’s are in the disposable stage. Especially electronic information products have shortened life cycle because of constant fast upgrades. Experts estimate that China has about 4 million TV’s, 5 million wash machines, 5 million refrigerators, 6 million computers, and 30 million cell phones are in disposable stage. In the meantime, there are huge amount of disqualified products and scraps during industrial manufacturing. Our e-waste volume is expected to increase significantly in the next few years. China, as the fastest developing country, has a great demand for all kinds of resources. Renewable resources will definitely add more new blood into our economic development.

Q:Does Fortune Group have any special way to handle E-waste?
 
A:Nanjing Jinze Metal Material Company Limited, located in Nanjing Lishui, is one of Fortune Group’s recycling centers. This is the first national e-waste recycling center in China, which recycles products without causing any hazards to the environment. During the complete recycling process, the company creates no waste liquid, nor solid residue waste, and its emission of waste gas meet EU emission standard.
 
Q:We have found products with original company’s label in the black market; however, these are not made by original brand company, nor do they go through the legal channel to be in the market. If we let Fortune Group recycle our industry waste, how does Fortune Group prevent similar things happened, to protect our intellectual property and related information from being stolen by the third party?

A: Fortune Company has strict requirement during shipping, to ensure the safety of e-waste. Upon arrival, we will confirm with our recycling center and report the status to our clients. All e-waste is stored in e-waste recycling center, separated by clients, and monitored by network camera. Electronic inspection doors are installed in recycling centers and manufacture gates. All client-related information is destroyed. Materials leave recycling center only in raw material form.
